Tartar fire prompts temporary closure for BLM managed lands east of Brownlee Reservoir
BOISE, Idaho– The Bureau of Land Management Four Rivers Field Office is temporarily closing access to BLM-managed public lands, roads, and trails within an area bounded by the Snake River to the west, Sumac Creek to the south, Payette National Forest to the east, and Raft Creek/Wayle Creek to the north beginning July 27, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., until August 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public and firefighters engaged in suppression operations, and post-fire emergency stabilization and rehabilitation activities on the Tartar Fire. This closure does not affect private land. The area would be monitored by BLM Law Enforcement personnel to ensure compliance with the closure.
