The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is announcing the availability of the proposed Mine Plan of Operations submitted by Sweetwater Uranium, Inc. for the Sweetwater Uranium In-Situ Recovery (ISR) Project in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, located approximately 40 miles northwest of Rawlins, Wyoming.

The proposed plan outlines the company’s intent to develop and operate an in-situ recovery uranium mine in association with the existing Sweetwater Mill to recover uranium. The proposed operations are co-located with the existing conventional mine and would add 484 acres of public land managed by the BLM, including 436 mining claims spanning 8,414 acres of federally administered minerals. The plan includes details on mining methods, reclamation measures, and environmental protection practices.

The BLM invites the public to review the Mine Plan of Operations (PoO) and comments may be submitted by email or mail. The comment period will be open March 16, 2026, through April 17, 2026. All comments must be received or postmarked by the closing date. The Mine Plan of Operations is available for review here or click the file below.
