BLM Authorizes Shaded Fuel Break Construction on Cedar Mesa
The BLM Monticello Field Office has issued a Categorical Exclusion and Decision Record that authorizes the treatment of pinyon pine and juniper woodland on Cedar Mesa to establish a shaded fuel break alongside designated roads. The project is located in Bears Ears National Monument in San Juan County, Utah.

Berry Petroleum Authorized to Proceed with Klondike Oil Well Development
The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Klondike Oil Wells: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0048-EA. The Authorized Officer signed a decision record under which the BLM will approve seven Applications for Permit to Drill for the applicant, Berry Petroleum, to drill oil wells producing from Indian Trust minerals. The EA also analyzed non-surface effects of constructing the well pad and supporting infrastructure (access roads, production facilitites) on lands outside BLM jurisdiction. The project location is on private land in the SWNW of Section 2 in Township 5 South, Range 4 West, U.S.M in Duchesne County.

Caerus Uinta LLC Approved for New Gas Well at Bronto Project
The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Bronto Gas Well: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0046-EA. The Authorized Officer signed a decision record under which the BLM will approve one Application for Permit to Drill for the applicant, Caerus Uinta LLC, to drill a gas well producing from an existing federal mineral lease. The project location is the existing CIGE 34-13-10-20 well pad on TLA-administered land in in the Natural Buttes Unit, specifically the SWNE of Section 13 in Township 10 South, Range 20 East, S.L.B.&M. in Uintah County approximately 42.5 miles from Vernal, Utah.
