Rocky Mountain District seasonal closures
CAÑON CITY, Colo. — To aid individuals in planning their use of our shared public lands, the Bureau of Land Management is issuing a reminder of ongoing and upcoming seasonal road and trail closures in the Royal Gorge and San Luis field offices. These temporary closures help ensure public health and safety during changes in weather and wildlife habitat.
Royal Gorge Field Office:
- Fourmile Area: Vitamin B and Unchained trails closed until April 15. Signs posted. Turtle Rock Campground closed to camping from Dec. 1 to March 1. Site remains open for day use.
- Salida Area: Gutz trail, Sol Train East and West, and Pot O’ Gold trails closed until April 15. Signs posted.
- Cache Creek Area: Closed to motorized traffic until April 15. Gate closed and signs posted.
- Shavano Area: Wildlife closures in selected areas until April 30. Signs posted.
San Luis Field Office:
- Blanca Wetlands: Closed from February 15 to July 15.
- Bronson Peak Road: Closed to motorized travel from October 1 to December 31. Signs Posted.
- Hot Creek: Closed to motorized travel from January 1 to April 30.
- McIntire/Simpson: Closed from December 1 to May 27.
- Pronghorn Trail: Closed from January 1 to April 30.
- Bear Creek: Closed from January 1 to April 30.
