Parking Improvements Authorized for Bellevue Flat Trailhead

The BLM Price Field Office has approved a project to formalize and improve parking at the Bellevue Flat Trailhead, a popular access point for off‑highway vehicle (OHV) users traveling to the Fix-It Pass and Devils Racetrack trails. The approved action expands and enhances parking facilities to improve the recreation experience, reduce congestion, enhance visitor safety, and provide better access for a variety of vehicles. The decision was documented in the signed Categorical Exclusion for the Bellevue Flat Parking Area, which was uploaded to ePlanning on March 13, 2026.

Middle Fork Energy Uinta LLC Approved for Loafer Gas Well Development

The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Loafer 14-15-723 Well Pad: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0054-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will approve ten Applications for Permit to Drill for the applicant, Middle Fork Energy Uinta LLC, to drill gas wells producing from existing federal mineral leases. The EA also analyzed construction of supporting infrastructure, including pipelines, a powerline, and a well pad with equipment for producing natural gas and drilling of an additional six future wells for a total of sixteen. The project location is in the Red Wash Unit, located 20 miles Southeast of Vernal in Uintah County, Utah (Township 7 South, Range 23 East, Section 15).

Uinta Wax Operating LLC Authorized to Proceed with Skoufos North Project

The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Skoufos North Oil Wells: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0065-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will approve seven Applications for Permit to Drill for the applicant, Uinta Wax Operating LLC, to drill oil wells producing from existing Indian Trust mineral leases. The EA also analyzed non-surface effects of constructing supporting infrastructure, including pipelines, access roads, and a well pad with equipment on the surface outside BLM's jurisdiction. The project location is on split estate lands approximately 6.8 linear miles south of Roosevelt, Utah in SESW Section 22, Township 4 South, Range 1 West in the North Myton Bench area of Duchesne County, Utah.

The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will approve six Applications for Permit to Drill for the applicant, FourPoint Resources LLC, to drill oil wells producing from existing Indian Trust mineral leases. The EA also analyzed non-surface effects of constructing supporting infrastructure, including pipelines, access roads, and a well pad with equipment on the surface outside BLM's jurisdiction. The project location is on split estate lands approximately 8 miles south of Myton, Utah, within the Uintah and Ouray Reservation in Section 15, Township 3 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah.
