Motorcycle hillclimb returns to Kemmerer BLM lands
Event Description
KEMMERER, Wyo. — The Bureau of Land Management’s Kemmerer Field Office is excited to host the Showdown at the Badlands, a high-adrenaline motorcycle event that is part of the Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday May 24-25, 2025, at the Bridger Off-Highway Vehicle Area, also known as the Badlands, located southeast of Mountain View, Wyoming, off Highway 414.
This event marks the return of the Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series to the area for the first time since 2017. Riders from across the country, from beginners to top national hillclimbers, will test their limits in multiple classes, with some motorcycles boasting up to 300 horsepower.
The competition is open to a variety of classes, with no day-of sign-ups allowed. All competitors must register by May 18 at 11:59 p.m. More information can be found here. Register at Showdown at the Badlands
The riders meeting begins at 7 a.m. each day, with the first climb immediately following. Pro-class competitors must be Rockwell Pro members, and those under 18 must bring a signed liability release. Spectator entry is $15 per day or $25 for the weekend. Camping inside the designated event area is available for $25, with spaces clearly marked by cones and roping.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the Bridger OHV area and bring exciting recreation opportunities to public lands,” said Jerry Frimml, an outdoor recreation planner in the BLM’s Kemmerer Field Office. “We’re glad to support an event that combines outdoor motorsport with community engagement.” For more information about competing, contact (406) 694-4634 or info@bmcmontana.com.
