Event Description
RENO, NEV. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Nevada State Office will host a Freedom 250 event at the University of Nevada, Reno in October to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday this year.
The event will be a one-day symposium on Mining in Everyday Life, including looking at mining’s impact on Nevada’s and the American West’s past, present, and future.
In addition to panel discussions from academics, industry, and government, the event will include a demonstration by the Mackay Muckers, the University of Nevada’s interscholastic mining team, as well as a site visit to Lithium America’s Technical Development Center. The event will conclude with an evening reception at the W. M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum.
Freedom 250 is the national, nonpartisan organization leading the celebration of our nation’s birthday. Events will take place around the country that honor our history, showcase the beauty of the United States, ignite innovation, and strengthen the faith that will carry our nation forward for the next 250 years.
