Event Description
Celebrate spring and the spirit of America’s public lands at Meadowood’s Freedom 250 Spring Bonanza—a family‑friendly outdoor event designed to educate, inspire, and connect visitors with the heritage of wild horses and burros. Set against the natural beauty of Mustang Meadow, this special gathering invites guests of all ages to spend the day exploring hands‑on learning stations, engaging with BLM outreach staff, and discovering the remarkable stories behind America’s wild equines.
A highlight of the day will be the appearance of Freedom and Liberty, the Bureau of Land Management’s Freedom 250 wild horse and burro ambassadors who are traveling nationwide to share the history, stewardship, and cultural significance of these iconic animals. Visitors can meet the duo up close, learn how they represent America’s enduring connection to western landscapes, and hear about the efforts that help protect and preserve wild herds on public lands.
In addition to wildlife‑focused activities, the Spring Bonanza offers a variety of interactive experiences including arts and crafts, self‑paced educational displays, and a live snake meet‑and‑greet hosted by knowledgeable naturalists. Outreach materials and books will also be available for anyone interested in learning more about the BLM’s mission and the broader Freedom 250 initiative.
This event is free, open to the public, and perfect for families, students, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone excited to welcome spring with a day of exploration, discovery, and community at Meadowood.
