The Bureau of Land Management Lakeview Field Office has re-issued a decision record for a categorical exclusion to thin and control western juniper for habitat enhancement. This project is designed to balance juniper management practices with conservation goals for sage-grouse while also enhancing mule deer habitat over the long term.

This project covers 4,500 acres approximately 9 miles northeast of Adel, Oregon within Priority Habitat Management Area for Greater sage-grouse and mule deer winter range. The decision can be found on the BLM National NEPA Register website at: Fisher Canyon Mule Deer and Greater Sage-Grouse Habitat Enhancement.
