Lakeview Field Office issues proposed decision on safety fence
The Bureau of Land Management Lakeview Field Office has issued a proposed decision record for a Categorical Exclusion (CE) to install approximately 6.72 miles of fence within the Alkali Lake North and Ryegrass Pastures in the Alkali Winter Allotment (#01001). The proposed action includes three fence segments designed to create a continuous barrier preventing livestock from reaching the highway. Because no existing barriers prevent livestock from accessing the highway, these fence segments are necessary to protect public health and safety.
The fence segments are located within the Alkali Lake North and Ryegrass Pastures of the Alkali Winter Allotment (#01001). The decision can be found on the BLM National NEPA Register website at: Highway 395 and Ryegrass Safety Fence.
