The Bureau of Land Management Lakeview Field Office has issued a proposed decision record for a Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA) to extend the grazing season for the O’Keeffe Individual Allotment (00216) to test virtual fences and targeted fall grazing for controlling annual grasses. The grazing season will extend from October 1st to November 30th, with no other changes to existing grazing management (i.e., AUMs, grazing system, etc.). The use of virtual fence technology presents a unique opportunity to control invasive annual grasses and improve rangeland conditions in the O’Keeffe Individual Allotment.

The O’Keeffe Individual Allotment is approximately 5 miles northeast of Adel, Oregon within Priority Habitat Management Area for Greater sage-grouse. The decision can be found on the BLM National NEPA Register website at: Virtual Fence and Targeted Grazing of Annual Grasses on the O’Keeffe Allotment.
