Join us for an inspiring evening with local photographer Kurt Hillman as he shares practical tips and techniques for capturing the night sky. This beginner-friendly presentation will focus on Milky Way and star trail photography using wide-angle lenses.
Kurt will walk attendees through the basics, including equipment suggestions, camera settings, and composition strategies, all designed to help you make the most of our dark skies at Canyons of the Ancients National Monument.
Kurt Hillman is a dedicated member of the Durango Photography Club with a passion for night sky photography. His work captures the beauty of public lands after dark, and he has contributed stunning images to help support CANM’s effort to earn International Dark Sky Park designation. Kurt brings a clear, approachable teaching style and years of experience photographing the Milky Way and star trails across the Southwest.
