BLM designates and improves Goblin City hiking trail in Uintah County

The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued Categorical Exclusion (CE) documentation for the Goblin City Trail: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0044-CX. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will designate and maintain the existing Goblin City Trail as a hiking (nonmotorized) trail, more definitively mark the route, and expand it by 0.35 mile using hand tools. The BLM would reestablish the old trailhead, replace the existing fire ring, and place a picnic table at the campsite. The project location is on BLM-administered land in Uintah County, Utah on the south side of the White about a quarter mile downriver from its intersection with Atchee Wash Road.

Monroe City authorized to renew and maintain existing power line

The BLM Richfield Field Office has issued the Categorical Exclusion and Decision Record for NEPA number: DOI-BLM-UT-C020-2026-0009-CE. The BLM received an application from Monroe City, that requested the renewal of an existing power line in Richfield Field Office, Utah. The BLM has decided to allow the Monroe City to continue to operate and maintain a 7.2kV overhead power line that crosses lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Richfield Field Office (RFO). The currently existing power line extends for 1,330 feet across BLM-managed lands.

Telecommunications right-of-way extensions approved for Piute and Wayne counties

The BLM Richfield Field Office has issued the Categorical Exclusion and Decision Record for NEPA number: DOI-BLM-UT-C020-2026-00011-CE. The BLM received an application from South Central Utah Telephone Association to amend two existing Rights-of-Way on Federal Lands, in Piute and Wayne County, Utah within the management area of the Richfield Field Office, Utah. The proposed action is to extend the two existing lines.

Garkane Energy Cooperative powerline renewals authorized

The BLM Richfield Field Office has issued the Categorical Exclusion and Decision Record for NEPA number: DOI-BLM-UT-C020-2026-00010-CE. The BLM received an application from Garkane Energy Cooperative to renew four existing powerlines within the Richfield Field Office (RFO). The approval will allow Garkane Energy Cooperative to continue to operate and maintain the four existing lines across BLM-RFO.
