Emergency Stabilization and Rehabilitation Plan Authorized for Stookey Fire

The Bureau of Land Management Salt Lake Field Office has completed a determination of NEPA adequacy (DNA) and decision records to authorizes post fire emergency stabilization and rehabilitation actions following the Stookey fire.
 
The Stookey fire ignited on July10, 2026, and was contained on July 30, 2026. The fire was naturally caused and started on public lands administered by the BLM SLFO and burned 10,898 acres of BLM administered lands. The decision allows for aerial seeding, chaining, development of erosion control structures, and replacement of fencing to occur.
