Emergency Closure Order Issued for Carbella Recreation Site Due to Bear Activity
Butte, Mont.— The Bureau of Land Management announces an Emergency Closure Order for the Carbella Recreation Site in Park County, effective May 13, 2025, until further notice. This closure is a precautionary measure in response to increased bear activity in the area, aimed at ensuring public safety. The closure will remain in place until it is determined that the site is safe for public recreation again.
The closure restricts access and use of the Carbella Recreation Site, including the boat ramp and campground, located on BLM-managed public lands The closure is necessary to ensure public safety around the recreation site during the bear activity. A copy of the Closure Order and a map of the affected area will be available at the BLM Butte Field Office.
