The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Burns District Office has issued a decision record for a categorical exclusion to remove approximately 19.5 miles of hazard trees within the Telephone and Falls wildfire boundaries on BLM-administered public land. Removing dead or dying trees is a critical step in post-wildfire recovery, protecting contractors, ranchers, BLM staff, and the recreating public from potential danger. It also safeguards new and repaired fence lines, ensuring restoration work isn’t lost to falling trees.

From Burns, Oregon, the Telephone Fire project area is about 18.5 miles north, and the Falls Fire project area is about 16 miles northeast. The decision record can be found on the ePlanning website at: Telephone & Falls Fire Fenceline Hazard Tree Removal.
