LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management will temporarily close Rob Jaggers Campground for the American Endurance Ride Conference’s Equestrian Trail Ride beginning at 8 a.m. July 5 and ending at 5 p.m. July 15. The campground will be unavailable to the public for the duration of the event.

“The public can expect to see a much heavier than usual presence of horses, horse trailers, vehicles and tents within the campground, as well as vehicle traffic on the surrounding roads on the days leading up to the event and throughout its duration,” said BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Jesse Vinson. The BLM will monitor the event and post signs where necessary to advise the public.

Camping at Cave Canyon Campground on the Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area and dispersed camping outside of Rob Jaggers Campground will remain available for use. The Valley of Fires Campground, about 25 miles to the west of Fort Stanton on U.S. Highway 380, will also be available for camping and day use during the event.
