Bureau of Land Management reducing fire restrictions in Washington
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation in Washington are lifting fire restrictions on lands they administer in part because of recent cooler, wetter weather reducing fire danger levels. The termination of the additional fire restrictions will take effect Sep. 30, 2025 at 12:01 p.m.
People are encouraged to continue exercising caution when operating motor vehicles on roads or trails with vegetation or tall grass. Due to inherent fire hazard risk, fireworks or exploding targets remain prohibited at any time on federal public lands. Please ensure all campfires are completely extinguished and cold before departure a camping area.
An Oregon/Washington BLM Fire Prevention Order continues to prohibit the use of fireworks, tracer, and incendiary ammunition, and exploding or metal targets on public lands. A copy of this order can be found at Oregon/Washington Fire Closures & Restrictions, and will remain in effect until Oct. 31, unless rescinded sooner.
