Event Description

Come and join us at Meadowood Special Recreation Management Area for Bug Nite on Saturday, June 13th! This family-friendly event starts just before sunset at 8pm at Mustang Trailhead (10702 Harley Rd., Lorton, VA).

We'll be illuminating parts of Mustang Meadow to attract Meadowood's moths, beetles, and other crawling or flying residents. Members from the Northern Virginia Bird Alliance will be present and will help to identify the critters. There will also be glow sticks and outreach materials available for all. Visitors may wish to bring folding chairs, blankets to sit on, and/or flashlights.

If you have any questions about Bug Nite, please reach out to the Lower Potomac Field Station at (703) 339-8009, or email us at [email protected]
