BLM updates emergency fire closure in the Boise Foothills
BOISE, Idaho—The Bureau of Land Management Four Rivers Field Office is updating a temporary closure of BLM-managed public lands and trails within the Boise Foothills, approximately two miles northwest of Boise due to the Claremont Fire.
On Monday, July 20, 2026, at 12:00 a.m., the temporary closure footprint of BLM managed lands, roads, and trails will be scaled down to the silver transmission line located near the Hulls Gulch Interpretive Trail and between 8th Street (aka: Hulls Gulch or Sunset), Rocky Canyon Road, and Boise Ridge Road. The closure will remain in effect until August 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of the public and firefighters engaged in suppression operations, and post-fire emergency stabilization and rehabilitation activities on the Claremont RA 6 Ada Co Fire. This closure does not affect private land.

- Quarry
- Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Trail
- Old Pen
- Table Rock
- River View
The following trails will remain closed under this updated closure:
- #0 Hulls Gulch Interpretive Trail, above the junction with the Connector to Lower Hulls
- #4 8th Street Motorcycle Trail, above the junction with Fat Tire Traverse
- #6 Femrite's Patrol Motorcycle Trail, above the junction with Fat Tire Traverse
- #45 Curlew Connection
- #26 Three Bears Trail, above the junction with Shane's Trail
- #3 Watchman Trail
- #2 Five Mile Gulch Trail
- #7 Orchard Gulch Trail
- #4A Hull's Ridge Trail
