BLM Signs Decision Records for 25 Drill Permit Applications
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Omaha 2 Well Pad: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0162-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record approving three Applications for Permit to Drill authorizing Scout Energy Management LLC (the applicant) to horizontally drill oil wells from the Omaha 2 Well Pad. The EA also analyzed effects of constructing the pad with an associated access road and pipeline corridor. The project location is on BLM-administered lands in the Greater Monument Buttes Unit approximately 11 linear miles south of Myton, Utah in Section 17 of Township 9 South, Range 17 East. The Responsible Official signed a decision record approving a pipeline right-of-way and eleven Applications for Permit to Drill authorizing Koda Uinta LLC (the applicant) to directionally drill natural gas wells from the Wario 24-1-723 Well Pad. The EA analyzed effects of constructing the pad with associated infrastructure (a powerline, access road, and pipeline corridor) and drilling up to three additional wells in the future for a total of fourteen. The project location is approximately 21 linear miles southeast of Vernal, Utah in Section 1, Township 7 South, Range 23 East. S.L.B.&M. in Uintah County, Utah. The BLM decision only applies to project portions on lands under its administration. The EA analyzed effects of constructing the pad with associated infrastructure (a powerline, access road, and pipeline corridor) and drilling up to six additional wells in the future for a total of seventeen. The project location is on BLM-administered lands in the Red Wash Unit approximately three miles southeast of Vernal in Section 34 of Township 7 South, Range 23 East in Uintah County, Utah.
