BLM seeks input for proposed public land conveyance for a cemetery near Pinedale

PINEDALE, Wyo.— The Bureau of Land Management Pinedale Field Office is seeking public comment on a proposal to convey 34.87 acres of public land to expand a cemetery in Sublette County, Wyoming through the Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act.

The act allows the BLM to sell or lease public lands to state and local governments or qualified non-profit organizations for public purposes. The Pinedale Field Office has determined the parcel is suitable for conveyance under the R&PP Act. The Upper Green River Cemetery District (UGRCD) Wind River Cemetery filed the application to develop the land as a cemetery to help meet existing and future needs for the county over the next five years.

notice will publish in tomorrow’s Federal Register to open the 45-day comment period, which will close June 15, 2026. The full notice will be available on the National Federal Register.
