BLM Roswell Field Office Invites Public to Disc Golf Tournament

ROSWELL, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Roswell Field Office invites the public to the Pecos Diamond Disc Golf Classic from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 19. Participants will meet at the Oxbow Day Use Area off U.S. 380, about seven miles east of the City of Roswell.
The pop-up tournament will feature nine baskets, which is half of a standard course. The course will run approximately a mile. Participants should bring their own equipment and water and wear sturdy close-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The BLM will not cancel the event due to rain. The geographic coordinates for the day-use area are: 33.39791, -104.39115.
“BLM invites you and your family to discover a fresh adventure in our new day-use area,” said acting Assistant Field Manager for Resources Noel Dominguez. “Come join us as we open the door to an experience everyone can enjoy.”
“This disc golf tournament is a great opportunity for local disc golf fans to try a new experience and get to know the BLM Roswell Field Office’s newest day-use area,” said Outdoor Recreation Planner Blake Ingram. “The 240-acre recreation area is located next to the Pecos River and offers many recreation opportunities.”
