BLM rescinds Vees Fire area emergency closure order
WORLAND, Wyo. – Due to reduced wildland fire activity and successful suppression efforts on the Vees Fire the Bureau of Land Management Worland Field Office rescinded the fire area closure that temporarily closed BLM lands in Washakie County within and adjacent to the area of the Vees Fire as described below.
Within the described area all BLM roads, trails, and lands will reopen to public access by 10 p.m. MT, Aug. 1:
Wyoming 6th Meridian Township 46N Range 87W – Southern half
Wyoming 6th Meridian Township 45N Range 87W – All sections
Wyoming 6th Meridian Township 44N Range 87W – Northern half
The Washakie County Sheriff Office has also reopened the portion of County Road 58 that was previously closed. At this time, there are no remaining public access closures associated with the Vees Fire.
Recent rainfall in the area has helped to reduce fire activity, but visitors should remain alert for changes and always practice outdoor fire safety.
