HELENA, Mont. – The Bureau of Land Management Butte Field Office signed a decision to relocate the volunteer host site at Clark’s Bay Day Use Area. The agency will construct a new host site at least 100 feet from two wells that supply the recreation site with public drinking water. The move will protect the wells from potential contamination from sewage spills and leaks.

The public has 30 days from March 13, 2026, to appeal this decision.

Clark’s Bay Day Use Area is located on Hauser Reservoir, approximately 11 miles outside of Helena.
