PINEHURST, Idaho— Today the Bureau of Land Management finalized a decision related to structures/features along the West Fork Pine Creek route within the Rochat Divide/Pine Creek Special Recreation Management Area. The decision would retain structures in their current state that are along the existing designated motorized route and also identifies mitigation to address cultural resource impacts resulting from a user-created by-pass. These BLM public lands are managed by the Coeur d’Alene Field Office, located about 12 miles southwest of Kellogg, in Shoshone County of northern Idaho.

The environmental assessment considered a range of alternatives and extensive public involvement.   This decision preserves existing seasonal motorized public access. The existing route will receive minimal maintenance; however, the structures will remain in current condition with no further maintenance or modifications.
