BLM Oklahoma Field Office seeks public involvement on Cross Bar Special Recreation Management Area planning effort
NORMAN, Okla. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Oklahoma Field Office is announcing the start of the public scoping period for development of the Cross Bar Special Recreation Management Area Recreation Area Management Plan. The 30-day public scoping period will begin on May 13 and end on June 12, 2025.
During the scoping period, BLM is interested in receiving feedback on the public’s vision for the area and the public’s interest regarding future proposed recreation development. The BLM is also interested in comments on possible recreation management alternatives.
The BLM will host an in-person public scoping meeting on Thursday, May 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Amarillo Area Foundation, 919 S. Polk St, Amarillo, TX, 79101.
Through the plan, the BLM will develop coordinated management and identification of necessary facilities and infrastructure to support targeted day-use and overnight recreational activities within the area while conserving the natural and cultural resources in the area.
