Event Description

Elko, Nevada – For the safety of the public and firefighters, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is temporarily closing the Wilson Reservoir Recreation Area Campground and BLM Road 1094. The closure is in response to increased fire activity from the Cottonwood Peak Fire.

The closure begins at the junction of BLM Road 1094 and County Road 730 (IL Ranch Road), approximately 3.5 miles west of County Road 728, and restricts all access to the Wilson Reservoir Recreation Area Campground.

Located 83 miles northwest of Elko, Wilson Reservoir Recreation Area is a popular site offering 24 campsites, vault toilets, and a boat ramp. The temporary closure ensures public safety while fire crews continue suppression efforts in the area.
