This order revokes in part a withdrawal created by a Secretary's Order dated November 26, 1906, which withdrew all lands within one mile of the high-water mark of Walker Lake in Mineral County, Nevada and reserved them for the Bureau of Reclamation's Truckee-Carson Project.

The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) no longer needs 109.60 acres for project purposes. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has evaluated the lands and determined they are suitable for return to the public domain.

In addition, this order permanently withdraws and transfers 69.60 of the 109.60 acres, as well as 103.65 acres of other public lands, as an addition to the Walker River Indian Reservation.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of America’s public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.
