BLM issues the decision record for proposed New York Canyon gen-tie project
WINNEMUCCA, Nev. — The Bureau of Land Management has issued a final plan for the proposed New York Canyon gen-tie transmission line project across approximately 35.5 miles (21 of which cross public lands) in Antelope Valley near Lovelock in Pershing County. The project aligns with Secretary's Order 3417 to address the national energy emergency by supporting the integrity of the electrical grid while creating jobs and economic prosperity for Americans.
Ormat Technologies, Inc., may construct a wooden-monopole-type 120-kilovolt, electrical transmission line and associated facilities. This transmission line will connect the proposed New York Canyon substation and adjacent geothermal powerplant to the NV Energy power grid through the Buffalo Mountain substation near Lovelock.
The project documents are available at the BLM National NEPA Register. For more information, please contact BLM Project Manager Katy Paiva at [email protected] or 775-861-6500.
