The Bureau of Land Management Grand Junction Field Office issued a decision record for an environmental assessment to approve a mine plan of operation modification for the October Ore Pile.

The approved plan of operation modification allows Aura Grit to conduct onsite processing of the uranium ore pile using a High-Pressure Slurry Ablation system that physically separates the uranium and vanadium minerals from the host rock. The products of the HPSA processing will be concentrated mineralized fines that will be transported to a licensed facility, and clean sand-sized rock material that will be used in the site reclamation. The current 0.35-acre area of surface disturbance will increase to a total of 1.92 acres under the approved plan modification.

The decision record can be found on the BLM’S ePlanning website at: October Ore Pile Reclamation Environmental Assessment.
