The Bureau of Land Management, Sierra Front Field Office, has issued a decision record for a categorical exclusion authorizing the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County to realign, elevate, and reconstruct approximately 2.5 miles of Lemmon Drive across 3,720 feet of BLM managed land near Swan Lake in Lemmon Valley, Nevada.

The approved Build Alternative, analyzed in the Environmental Assessment (FHWA‑NV‑EA 25‑02), includes construction of a new elevated roadway west of the current alignment to ensure the road remains above the Federal Emergency Management Agency 100‑year base flood elevation. The design features a 52‑foot roadway section with one travel lane in each direction, a center median, shoulders, and designated turn pockets. A 10‑foot shared-use path will also be built to support multimodal transportation and community access.

The project incorporates all design features analyzed in the Environmental Assessment and Categorical Exclusion review, including strategies to maintain drainage patterns, reduce flood risks, protect biological resources, and minimize dust and stormwater impacts. Environmental reviews determined the project would not result in significant impacts. The Decision Record is available at: Lemmon Drive Road Realignment Project
