BLM issues Decision for Flanigan Grazing Allotment
The Bureau of Land Management, Sierra Front Field Office, has issued the Proposed Grazing Decision for the Flanigan Grazing Allotment Grazing Permit Renewal Environmental Assessment. The Allotment lies approximately 50 miles north of Reno, Nevada in Washoe County, and runs along the Virginia Mountains.
The purpose of the EA is to consider the Flanigan Allotment permit renewal to graze livestock in a manner that provides for livestock grazing on public lands consistent with meeting management objectives. The Allotment encompasses approximately 55,071 acres (57 percent) of BLM‑managed public lands and 41,414 acres (43 percent) of private land, totaling 96,592 acres.
