BLM issues Decision for Crystal Canyon Road Access
The Bureau of Land Management, Sierra Front Field Office, has issued a decision record for a categorical exclusion authorizing a short-term right-of-way for Lifestyle Homes TND, LLC to construct and operate a temporary two-lane gravel access road near Crystal Canyon Boulevard in Washoe County, Nevada. The approximately 4,860‑foot‑long road would allow transport of processed fill material between two private parcels. Construction would temporarily disturb about 3.7 acres and include limited grading, vegetation trimming, and use of standard construction equipment. All disturbed areas would be reclaimed after work is complete.
The project incorporates BLM best management practices to protect natural and cultural resources, including erosion control, wildlife timing restrictions, dust suppression, equipment cleaning to prevent invasive species spread, and avoidance procedures for sensitive resources. Environmental reviews determined the project would not result in significant impacts. The Decision Record is available at: Crystal Canyon Road Access
