BLM Coos Bay District issues decision on timber sales
The Bureau of Land Management Coos Bay District Umpqua Field Office has issued a Decision Record for the Windy Bend CT, Tail Dragger CT, Mosetown CT, Stand Back CT, and Crane N Snow CT timber sales, documented under Determination of NEPA Adequacy DOI‑BLM‑ORWA‑C030‑2025‑0005‑DNA.
The decision authorizes implementation of Alternative 2 from the Late‑Successional and Riparian Reserve Restoration Management Environmental Assessment, including commercial thinning and associated road work across approximately 991 acres in Douglas County, Oregon, within Late‑Successional Reserve, Riparian Reserve, and District‑Designated Reserve-Roads land use allocations.
These actions are intended to accelerate development of late‑successional forest characteristics, improve habitat complexity, and enhance riparian function, consistent with all Project Design Features, Best Management Practices, and mitigation measures identified in the EA and DNA.
Both the DNA and the Decision Record are available on the BLM’s ePlanning website for public review.
A person adversely affected by this decision may appeal to the Interior Board of Land Appeals under 43 CFR Part 4. A Notice of Appeal must be filed within 30 days of the date the public is notified of this decision.
