BLM Closing Areas within Sublette County for Public Safety
Starting today, Bureau of Land Management public lands within the Pinedale Field Office will be off limits due to public safety concerns and to help with suppression efforts for the Bare Fire. The public closure is in effect through Sept. 1, 2026, unless it is rescinded earlier by the field office.
The southern end of the BLM closure follows BLM Road 5217 and includes all land north of the road. A road closure begins about 1.8 miles east of the U.S. Forest Service boundary. It also includes all BLM lands to the east and south of South Cottonwood Creek, which is the northern boundary of the closure. The western boundary is USFS managed lands. The USFS has closed lands to the west of the BLM closure. A map is available to view in the fire prevention order.
