BLM Closing Areas within Fremont County for Public Safety
Starting today, Bureau of Land Management public lands within the Lander Field Office will be off limits due to public safety concerns and to help with suppression efforts for the Weiser Knoll Fire. The public closure is in effect through Sept. 1, 2026, unless it is rescinded earlier by the field office.
The closure extends to all BLM-administered lands within the junction of U.S. Highway 287 and Wyoming Highway 28. This includes of all lands east of Wyoming Highway 28 to Beaver Creek and all lands south of U.S. Highway 287 to Beaver Creek. A map is available to view in the fire prevention order.
