BLM Authorizes Bald Mountain Mine Modification Project in White Pine County, Nevada
ELY, Nev. — The Bureau of Land Management has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact and Decision Record authorizing KG Mining (Bald Mountain) Inc. to modify its Plan of Operations for the Bald Mountain Mine, an open-pit gold mine approximately 60 miles northwest of Ely in northwest White Pine County.
Issued on July 20, 2026, the action authorizes modifications to existing mining operations within the North Operations Area – referred to as the Bald Mountain Mine Process, Casino, and Poker Modification Project – to improve ore access, pit sequencing, and material transport efficiency. The project will not expand the mine boundary, extend authorized mine life beyond 2040, or change ore processing methods or production capacity. The proposed modification to the Plan of Operations was published in the BLM National NEPA Register on June 10, 2026, and underwent a 30-day public comment period that concluded on July 10.
