BLM Approves Right-of-Way Modifications in Preparation for Fernley Conveyance
CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Sierra Front Field Office has issued a Decision authorizing administrative modifications to nine (9) existing rights-of-way (ROW) within lands to be conveyed to the City of Fernley under Phase II of (H.R.) 3979 - the Carl Levin and Howard P. "Buck" McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 ("Fernley Lands Bill").
Seven (7) existing Federal Land Management Policy Act (FLPMA) ROWs will be converted to a perpetual term, and two (2) Mineral Leasing Act (MLA) ROWs will be amended to new 30-year terms, as per the "Final BLM Policy and Procedures/or Issuance of 'Long Term' Right-of-Way Grants and Easements Over Public Lands to be Transferred Out of Federal Ownership.” No ground disturbance, nor any additional rights, would be granted under this action.
