BLM approves Gold Bar South Mine plan amendment

Battle Mountain District, Mount Lewis Field Office has approved McEwen Mining Nevada Inc.’s Gold Bar South Mine plan amendment, adding 25.1 acres of disturbance for reconfigured pits, roads and dumps. A Determination of NEPA Adequacy has been completed and is available on the BLM National NEPA Register.


The BLM manages about 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
