BLM approves expanded silicon exploration project in southern Nevada
TONOPAH, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management has approved an amendment to AngloGold Ashanti’s silicon exploration plan in Nye County. This amendment increases the project area by 378 acres to a total of 4,008 acres on public lands administered by the BLM and located about eight miles northeast of Beatty.
Projects like this support President Trump’s Executive Order 14241, “Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production,” to boost domestic mineral production and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign minerals, enhance national security, and create jobs.
AngloGold will increase the number of drill rigs; add laydown area, increase water storage capacity, upgrade the fuel system, and add a first aid station in support of their continued mineral exploration efforts to identify mineral resources.
