BLM Approves Dodge Flat II Energy Project in Washoe County
CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management has approved the Dodge Flat II energy project to produce up to 200-megawatts on up to 500 acres of public lands and 1,071 acres of private lands near Wadsworth in Washoe County.
With this approval, Dodge Flat Energy Center, LLC, may construct, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission and reclaim an energy facility including battery energy storage system, an on-site substation, and a one-mile 345-kilovolt transmission line to the Olinghouse substation.
In accordance with Executive Order 14315 and Secretary’s Order 3438, decisions and actions concerning wind and solar energy facilities undergo elevated review by the Department of the Interior, including leases, rights-of-way, construction and operation plans, grants, consultations and biological opinions. This enhanced oversight strengthens accountability and prevents misuse of taxpayer-funded subsidies. By applying consistent review standards, BLM is protecting American landscapes, safeguarding wildlife and prioritizing energy projects that deliver real value, reliability and return on investment for the American people.
Project information, including the final environmental assessment and resource management plan amendment, is available at the BLM National NEPA Register. For more information, please contact BLM Project Manager Michael Xavier at 775-885-6127 or [email protected].
