BLM approves Castle Gold for continued exploration near Tonopah
The Bureau of Land Management today approved the Castle Gold exploration project across 1,658 public acres in the Smoky Valley, about 22 miles west of Tonopah in Esmeralda County.
Projects like this support President Trump’s Executive Order 14241, “Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production,” to boost domestic mineral production and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign minerals, enhance national security, and create jobs.
With this approval, Allegiant Gold Ltd., can expand their previously approved exploration of less than 5 total modified acres to about 50 total modified acres within the same project area. The company may construct drill sites, roads, and trenches; improve existing roads; and bulk sample the existing waste rock dumps and leach pads.
Additional information, including planning documents, is available at the BLM National NEPA Register. For more information, please contact BLM Planning and Environmental Coordinator Jeffrey Kirkwood at BLM_NV_BMDO_P&[email protected] or (775) 635-4164.
