BLM approves Big Smoky geophysical surveys in central Nevada
The Tonopah Field Office of the Battle Mountain District Bureau of Land Management has posted two Categorical Exclusions and Decision Records for geophysical testing related to geothermal energy production in the Big Smoky Valley under the following project links:
Big Smoky Direct Push Temperature Probe Survey and Big Smoky Passive Seismic Survey. A 30-day appeal period will begin September 18, 2025, and end at 4:30 pm Pacific Time on October 20, 2025.
