BLM Amends Temporary Closure for Sand Creek Fire Area
DILLON, Mont. — Due to ongoing suppression operations on the Sand Creek fire, the Bureau of Land Management has amended a temporary public land closure to protect public health and safety. The closure was effective at 12 p.m. on Sept. 17 and will remain in place until rescinded.
The order applies to BLM‑managed lands within Township 4 South, Range 15 West, Section 25, and Township 5 South, Range 12 West, Sections 7 and 18. A map of the affected area is included with the official order.
Public entry into designated BLM parcels remains prohibited unless individuals have written authorization from the agency. The closure supports firefighter access, aviation operations, and heavy equipment movement in the fire area.
