Bear Camp Road closed due to Moon Complex
Medford, Oregon – As a result of the Moon Complex, the Bureau of Land Management Grants Pass Field Office and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest have temporarily closed Bear Camp Road from Galice to Agness for firefighter and public safety. The Moon Complex fire is rapidly approaching Bear Camp Road and the road is not safe for public travel. Travelers are advised to use Highway 199 as an alternate route.
Bear Camp Road, which is managed by both the BLM and the RRSNF, is a remote, mountainous route that connects the Rogue Valley to coastal areas.
Public and firefighter safety are the highest priority. The closure will provide safe access for firefighters. The BLM and Forest Service will reassess conditions on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Weather and fuel conditions remain favorable for continued fire spread. For the latest road and weather condition updates, visit https://www.tripcheck.com/. BLM Medford District is in high fire danger. Fire restriction information is available on https://www.blm.gov/orwafire.
Please call 911 to report any signs of new fires.
