GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Bureau of Land Management Grand Junction Field Office Manager opened 14 miles of BLM-managed routes in Garfield County in the vicinity of Garfield County Road 200 from administrative use only to open to all modes of travel.

“We are excited for the public to have access to these travel routes and we urge the public to be aware of and respect private property boundaries,” said Stacey Colón, Grand Junction Field Manager.

This decision is the result of agreements with private land partners and newly available public access through private property. The access is consistent with the Grand Junction Field Office Travel Management Plan.

Some of the newly accessible routes are very technical in nature, with very few turnaround opportunities. Visitors should know their vehicle limits, pack plenty of food and water, follow the Stay the Trail Program, and practice Leave No Trace principles
