PHOENIX – The Bureau of Land Management’s Hassayampa Field Office will temporarily close some public lands in Maricopa County for the upcoming Vulture Mine Off-Road Challenge off-highway vehicle races. The closure will occur Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6, 2022.

Public safety is a top priority for the BLM, and the temporary closure for the Vulture Mine Off-Road Challenge provides for the safety of the public and race participants. All public lands located on the interior of the race course, as well as the race course itself, will be temporarily closed to public entry, unless specifically excepted. Maps and information regarding the designated race course and impacted closure area are available at the Hassayampa Field Office located at 2020 E. Bell Road in Phoenix.

A Notice of Temporary Closure of Selected Public Lands appears in the Federal Register on October 11. For further information, contact Chris Gammage at the Hassayampa Field Office at 623-580-5500.
