BLM Holds Open House for the Normally Pressured Lance Natural Gas Development Project

PINEDALE, Wyo. – The BLM is holding two open houses to discuss the Normally Pressured Lance Natural Gas Development Project with local communities and take public comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement released last week.
Open houses are being held at the following locations and times:
- July 25, 2017, at the BLM in Pinedale, Wyoming, 1625 West Pine Street, from 4:30 -7:30 p.m.
- July 26, 2017, at the BLM in Rock Springs, Wyoming, 280 Highway 191 North, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The NPL project is located immediately south and west of the existing Jonah Gas Field in Sublette County, Wyoming. The project area lies within the BLM Wyoming’s High Desert District (HDD) and spans the Pinedale Field Office (PFO) in the north and Rock Springs Field Office (RSFO) to the south. Jonah Energy LLC is proposing up to 3,500 directionally drilled wells over a 10-year period that could unlock 5.25 Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) of natural gas. All alternatives in the NPL DEIS conform to the Pinedale Field Office Resource Management Plan Record of Decision (2008), as amended, and the Green River Resource Management Plan Record of Decision (1997). The project encompasses approximately 141,000 acres of public, State, and private lands. Approximately 96 percent of the project area is on public lands.
Comments must be received by August 21, 2017 (45 days after publication of the Notice of Availability in the Federal Register) and can be mailed to NPL EIS Project Manager, BLM Pinedale Field Office, P.O. Box 768, Pinedale, WY 82941 or emailed to blm_wy_npl_eis@blm.gov.
