This site is comprised of large open areas of sagebrush grassland ringed by ponderosa pine and junipers. There are excellent opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, bicycle riding, and cross country skiing. A designated off highway vehicle area is on the south end.

Directions

Take Highway 312 East. Drive 7.7 miles to the flashing light and turn left onto Shepherd Road. Drive 4.78 miles North to Scandia Road, turn right onto Scandia Road and proceed 2.6 miles to the CA Road and turn left. The OHV parking area is on the left about 4.6 miles farther. Parking areas with access to the non-motorized portion are about 3 miles farther North
